The much anticipated Shiba Inu cold wallets will be ready for pre-order by May 29, according to the official Twitter account of the SHIB ecosystem. Shiba Inu is working with Swiss-based cryptocurrency hardware wallet manufacturer Tangem on this project.
Also, popular Shiba Inu marketing team member Lucie Sasnikova attempted to explain some features of the wallet.
With the SHIB×Tangem cold wallet, users get to store and manage Shiba Inu tokens as well as other crypto-assets conveniently. This is because the cold wallets have the capacity of supporting up to 6,000 currencies including fiat and digital assets.
Sasnikova also mentioned that the wallet will grant users easy access to Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Decentralized Exchanges (DEX), Non-Fungible tokens (NFTs), and a host of other offerings. Based on the description of the Shiba Inu marketing team, the cold wallet size is similar to that of a credit card, hence, it would be easy for users to move around with it.
“The card is based on a highly secure Samsung element, and if properly preserved, the wallet can withstand temperatures ranging from -35 to 50 degrees Celsius for up to 50 years. In fact, the card is so durable that it is one of the few hardware wallets to have received an IP68 certification — thus proving it to be one of the most durable cards in the market,” Sasnikova added.

Shiba Inu Price Reaction
As a memecoin, Shiba Inu is known to respond to news like this with optimal growth momentum. However, in the hours following the pre-order date reveal, the price of SHIB is still down by more than 2% over the past 24 hours.
At the time of writing, the digital currency is changing hands at a price of $0.0000088 and there are expectations of a major rebound when the excitement following the news has permeated the community.
The features of the cold wallet are reasons to be excited about its prospects and the role it will play when Shibarium goes live on the mainnet. No external batteries or cables are required to use the hardware wallet, users would only need their mobile devices.
At the same time, users would not need to upload their personal data for the card to function. The card has been deemed secure after going through Kudelski Security’s independent assessment and has received EAL6+ security certification plus the Near-field communication (NFC) technology which it leverages.
